Beautiful concept, visualization, and capture/presentation. The conversion to monochrome is moody, rich, and pleasing.

I hope you are indeed finding your way in your new home, and will be able soon to spend more time with us here sharing the journey. We are eager!

thanks Frank and Paula, I tried to do something with the compass, ended up hanging it and putting a book behind it and then saw the shadow it made, and tried to add a couple more things... I had mixed feelings about it, ended up black and white because the light turned everything to brown muck..

Maine, we are slowly settling in. One of our pods is still unloaded pending a shed that is late in coming. Knowing that winters have snow here, we bought a Subaru today, spending more money than I wanted, but that is another item off the check list. Place in VA is sold, and we will have a massive task this autumn in closing down and selling the WV home.

I shot this little squirrel a couple of days ago, today he came back and I tried to bring a couple of berries to him. Got to 3 feet away from him before he fled. The little animals don't seem as timid here for some reason.

Things are still feeling very surreal - is the best word to describe the feeling. Things feel very dream like and the days are rapidly melting together.

indeed - since this post, they came back. It was Meanie Face, Little Red, and Skinny Tail. Skinny Tail let me get close (3 feet or so) with my macro lens, will have the chance I think to figure out easier shots than my big zoom lens, giving me more detail since I can let more light in.. But yeah, making friends in Maine!!

C’mon! Now way dragon wings could improve on this exquisite portrait of a young red squirrel - one of my favorite species and yours is one of the best - if not the best - portrait renderings of of the species I’ve seen!
Please …. Don’t fuss it up with dragon wings!
With much admiration,
Dave

LOL - ok, I won't - but I might try to paint one of these guys in a more serious manner!

In the meantime - Darkness Comes.... every night.
