Also, how do you guys name your photos? Like some that I have seen when browsing through the forum here, such great names for photos. How do you come up with names for them?

Welcome! Thanks for jumping in. You've shared an adorable shot of a cute little fellow full of personality. And you're allowed his extraordinarily beautiful eyes to dominate the image. it's sharp enough without being too sharp around the ears and you haven't lost any bright detail. There's nice catchlights in the eyes.

I'm not a portraitist so my critique of other factors Is worth less than the critique of others who have more expertise. Duck is a pro, and PSJunkie is a skilled amateur whose main interest is candid chidren's images. Dave Chinn is a retired childrens' sports photographer with a creative approach to photography. So I'm hoping they'll join in and give you more expertise than I can.

When shooting my grandsons, I often have backgrounds like this to work with, and I sometimes fiddle with them in post processing to get a solid dark background. I think the way his shoulders are positioned makes him look a little turtle-ish because there is some distortion with that angle. I'm still trying to figure out if including more of his arms would be better or not. Another position? I dunno.

minniev has said most that needs be said...I would prefer a tighter square crop for this one, (personal choice, and removes a lot of the distractions with little effort), you will have to get involved with editing software to do much else......welcome to the forum. Naming is one of the hardest parts for me..lots of looking and re-looking at an image

Photography is one of the ways that we can capture the emotion of the moment - which indeed you have done!

I am assuming you are not speaking about how to organize your work, but how to title the emotional books that you write, so do so by using the emotion you feel when you look at the work.

For example, I name your son's image - "I Am Here.. and it feels GOOD!"

This is a great start, with nice lighting, sharp focus, very good exposure. The only suggestion I'd make is to use a portrait orientation. Leave a bit more room at the top, just a bit more.
