Minnie's 2022 Project 52
After nagging others to do this, I can't skip a week even though I'm pretty sick. The first theme of the year is "Hope", which is rather ironic since I feel anything but hopeful. After almost 2 years in pandemic mode, with new variants springing up everywhere threatening to keep us in check another year, and sick with something as yet undiagnosed, hope is the last concept I should try to illustrate. It is also below freezing outside, with freezing rain pounding us and wind howling, conditions are not conducive. So I took a picture of an old doll and painted her into a cobbled together background to illustrate a level of hope I do not feel. Here she is. She took her armor with her as she chunked the old year into the trash can and threw open the curtain on the new. It isn't really pretty there, but maybe better than the old.

Solitude
I catch my same-age relatives doing this a lot, and I do it too. When we are at the country house, we sit and daydream about our past there: our childhoods, our children's childhoods, our grandchildren's visits, the people who lived here and are gone now. I caught my brother in this mode yesterday and snapped a candid.

At this age there is always a new ailment to replace the previous one.
Thanks!

One of my daughters in law gave me a marvelous furry blanket that is perfect for the deep freeze temps we've had recently. Being still kinda sick at the time of this theme announcement, I just dumped the button box on the furry blanket. Here it is.
