Topic this week: Keys

I had a "keys" story so I made an image then a composite of the story. We spent the week at the country house beginning to reclaim it from the harsh winter, and I needed scissors and tape and other things that stay in Jack's "art desk". But the desk was locked! I didn't know it even had a key but locked it was. Who might've locked it? I was sure it must have been Jack but how? Since I couldn't get him on the phone I had to think like a 9 year old boy and imagine, if I found a special key and it fit an old roll top desk, where might I keep it?

Maybe in an old cigar box in a cubbyhole under my bed? Of course!

Well, there's gonna be a gap in my 52. It looks like the bonfire that ate PhotoMentoris ate part of my 52!

Here is the post for the current theme which is a composite showing my ideal world.

I used a photo I took in Scotland, added a shepherdess, some animals, and a clothesline from other sources, ran it all through a paint filter to get all of it rendered similarly, then worked on color and light, added some un-birds and texture, and here it is.

I think the classic painters would be mad you make it look so easy. And I appreciate that you took us through the steps to get here.

If I may ask, did you see this as is when you took it or did it develop as you processed it?

Always curious! S-

love the mystery of the lost key! And your landscape is marvelous. Love the color and mood and everything about it. The greens look great and love your splashes of warmth on it.

Thanks Steve. No, I just liked the cottage but never did anything with it till last week when I ran across it and wondered if I might spiff it up with some sheep. As usual, one thing led to another - a shepherdess, more sheep, a chicken, a clothesline, a tree, some birds…

Thanks Piet. It was one of those pictures that are dull until you start pushing pixels around.
