Theme: Feathers

There's a lot of feather stuff going on in this picture, shot Saturday morning at dawn. But no close ups, I have no boat.

High key/low key

I'm starting with a low key, and chose a complicated one to do. I photographed my cousin yesterday in the dark interior hall of the old house, with brighter light coming from behind and to her side. I wasn't unhappy with the image but it seems a little flat. If anyone wants to try their hand at giving it a better turn, please do so!

My quick rendition...most low key stuff I've seen has mostly dark background but I don't know much about low or high key imagery.

thanks for jumping in and giving it a try! I have seen mostly that kind too but of course being stubborn I wanted to try something different. I’ll try darkening the background and fiddling with the lighting a bit. I appreciate your help!

Im never sure what I'm looking for! I just experiment!

This cousin is not at all interested in flattery. She is very comfy in her own skin, so she will enjoy any version put forth. And your edits will help me move it in a printable direction! I thought about doing up a print for her daughter as a gift.

Was not trying to flatter…just re-read your post about being happy with the image except for the image being flat (maybe unflatten is not a word) hahaha...tried to make cousin less flat, tonality wise....I lack good communication skills
