Was not trying to flatter…just re-read your post about being happy with the image except for the image being flat (maybe unflatten is not a word) hahaha...tried to make cousin less flat, tonality wise....I lack good communication skills
Laf! I’m the one who misread! Trying to read without my glasses! Thanks, and you express yourself better than I can see!

Agree. I always sneak photos of her when I can, she doesn't really object but has no interest in seeing them and no vanity whatsoever.

weekly theme - Bright

We got our trees up at home and at the country house. This is the country house of course, with the old fashioned lights that are so much brighter than the LED things we buy today. There was a huge temperature shift while we were there and it created a ton of humidity both inside and out. My lens kept fogging up and wiping it off only helped for a millisecond. So I tried to use that fog as a feature rather than a bug to create big halos around the lights, then added an artistic filter and a bunch of brushwork and other shenanigans.

Week 51 - "Bows and Flows"

I am not sure what the theme even means but I know what a bow is and I have one on the door. It is an old raggedy bow, attached to a live wreath I got at Walmart after a diligent but failed search turned up only artificial ones. Walmart! I'd never have thought they'd have what the Christmas tree farm and the garden centers didn't have. On this affair is also a small stuffed bird with real feathers that was an ornament on a little tree given to me as a child.

So I ran this thing through a Topaz filter with that crazy wire and electric stuff, which I'd never found any use for. But hey, they do cool things to wreaths! So I masked everything else out and painted with mixer brushes till it looked interesting, and here it is.
