Farm in Black & White

Post by minniev »

As the garlic season draws to a disrupted close, I must do something to force myself to use the camera so I'll start a series on black and white versions of pictures of essentially nothing.

It is hard to think in black and white when the colors are in summer riot, but perhaps it will be instructive. Or at least something to do during this frightening version of Groundhog Day.

I'll start with a hay bale at dawn.

Thanks.

I am trying very diligently to keep myself sane which is hard in current times with a dysfunctional government determined to kill me and mine.

China finds 100 cases and they go into "panic" mode to attempt to contain the thing. They end up doing 200,000 tests in response, so that they can contain and isolate.

We on the other hand say things like "the numbers are going up because testing is going up" - (Duh). Yes, testing is used to determine what is really taking place (with the hidden implication that for the numbers to look more rosy, perhaps we should test less).

I don't mind the argument that the virus is rampant and can not be contained here and we need to move on (as safely as possible - masks everywhere - to minimize the damage). But no one is capable of making a reasonable argument based on truth. Our current government is disgusting. It is clear that our government does not value its people - or certainly not the everyday people.

At best we are pawns in a power struggle. I am disgusted - completely

I agree. I feel powerless in the grip of the monster that our country has become. That is so disturbing, to feel that the government is complicit in killing us. History has many examples of this of course, but that doesn't make it less disturbing.
