"Biker Dude"

Postby Ernst-Ulrich Schafer » Sun May 14, 2017 1:50 pm

From a personal project that I've been working on for a number of years now. Taken in Savannah, GA last Jan while visiting family.

Best to ya, Ernst

This is a very appealing image. We see nobody's face which is supposed to be a no no but it works very well here. All the elements and lines are precisely balanced, much like the one taken in Providence which I saw but have not found since (I am still learning the labyrinthine forum arrangement here). Elements and people are halved and quartered but that works too. The processing is interesting and I'm curious about it. The blurred figures in the background look somewhat stylized. It's very effective as a way to pull the biker into an isolated difference. (What on earth is that thing against the wall on the right side of him?)

It's another figure walking by. I enjoy using the Nik Silver Effects filters for my BW work. Shot with my backup camera a Canon 40d and using my 100mm macro lens shot wide open. I had to walk quickly to get to my
spot to take this image.

Thanks. I use Nik SE too, and Tonality as my main B&W editors. Of course you've got me beat, but that's OK, it's always good to have something/someone to admire and learn from.

That is a most peculiar figure. I have looked at it multiple times and my imagination has run wild...

Type Providence in the Search box at the top-right corner and you come up with Providence RI

I can see why, it's wonderful!

Ain't shadows grand? You really have to be ready to SEE something like this though, since our brains try to unscramble these puzzles for us and we can easily overlook them.
