Lovely. Fetching. Without taking anything away, the small sugar bowl looks like a tiny piglet enjoying the company of the brilliant bouquet. Matt

Thanks Matt. As you’ve seen I have a pair of piglets that live on this table but were not around at the moment, I think they were having their snouts cleaned. Salt gets very gummed up in unairconditioned houses in the summer down here.

Wheel says Soft Light - A busy week and hurricane-induced rainy weather got in my way. Got this one just at sunset. Not much of a subject except the light and color. I'd have to give hints that there is a little cotton shack hiding in the trees, which means it ain't very good, but still has memories for me. It was a good place for hide and seek when I was little, or jumping on piles of cotton that were waiting to go to the gin by wagon. The farm foreman was utterly untrusting of motorized vehicles so all the work was done by mules and by hand as long as the farm was operative. Now it's a hay field instead of a cotton field.

Shack is well hidden, Minnie; I can't see it even with your hint. Great memories of a rare childhood. In Brooklyn, we were dodging bullets and street fights. And cars driven by people who didn't want us playing stick ball in the streets. (Such language!).

Like the muted tones in the image. The grass reminds me of a photo I took yesterday morning while on the beach. Here 'tis. Matt

That light on the grass in your shot is wonderful Matt. I love lit up grasses in late or early light!

We were far from idyllic down here - the south had lynchings and other terrible events, but not in this safe space. The old farm was a haven of gentleness and dependability, a stronghold against the world. Even though we had little, we didn't know it because it was enough, and peace prevailed. (The cotton shack is just to the right of the largest tree, with an errant bit of sun reflecting off the ruined tin roof.)

I thought that might be it. Looked like a corrugated roof or gray siding. Couldn't be sure. Matt

The Wheel gave me Panorama. So I went back to Felix's and tried something different. This could be called Fingerwork #xx.

I'd love to be in the brain of someone who makes something like this! S-
