One from the lion's den, taken through a glass enclosure, which I absolutely hate to do, but did just to see if it would work with my rule of acceptance.

I decided to post a color version of 'Mshindi' [ma-shin-dee] the 29-year-old just acquired male gorilla.

This image I would consider to be a composite, because I masked in the sky. I wanted so much for this to be B&W, but felt color was the way to go with this one. If I can come up with something that seems suitable for me, I may try another attempt to convert to B&W. Until then, thoughts and comments to make it better if possible or just scratch it and try for another?

Since I am on a roll to visit the zoo several times, I do think I will use this thread to post other zoo animals, at least for now. Animal House just wouldn't be .... without other animals as for maybe chaperones?
The lighting works well here! S-

Thanks Steve !!! I felt the lighting was as perfect as can be. I would have preferred something along the lines of better composition. I have always had a difficult issue with photographing giraffes. On this day it was rather crowded which made it more difficult to capture a preferred position. Try, try again !!!
