It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed. As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers. |

I somehow missed some of the additions to your Port Townsend collection and am just now finding them, but what a treat they are! You're creating a wonderful portfolio of images that reveal the very heart of the place. From the simplistic abstract-like curtain image, to the color-rich boat scene you last posted, and all in between, are such wonderful images and create a powerful sense of place. It certainly seems like a place where retirement would be a joyful occupation, though I doubt you'd be fully retired, you'd surely have a gallery there even if you don't do portraits as you now do. Fine art.
Again, I'm reminded of Monhegan, an island treasure on the other side of the continent.

I love reflections, but even more so that the one side does not match the other! Love it! S-

Had a reason to visit PT yesterday, my friend Harry von Stark was having a show of work at the Northwind Gallery. A three year project "Floating Steel" where he documented a new fishing trawler being built and bound
for the Bearing Sea. Here is a link to his website, however he needs to add the rest of the project on his site. I purchased his book and will add one of his BW images to my collection.

Harry's work is very stark, with harsh lighting, but realistic and telling at the same. Thank you for adding this to our collection! S-

I love the feeling that I'm shuffling through a collection of work in a side-street art shop. Thank you for adding these! S-
