These fantasy pieces are fun ways to practice compositing, but I'm not sure I'm getting any better. All suggestions and edits welcome.

Fun piece minniev....try warming the birds even though it may not be their natural color it will help them blend a bit more with the room light...

Very humorous and fanciful. I'm just wondering if the birds shouldn't be just a touch larger (for scale). These can be large birds and I'm looking at that fish on the hassock for scale.

love the story, great suggestions so far. Perhaps a little smoke coming out of fireplace into the room to add to the mess, perhaps get a flatter fish and center it on the table and add some apples (as in pig type design). Darken the corners more and make the room more moody. I am thinking Duck's scale idea and Frank's warming idea are very much on target.

Thanks, I do believe you're right about the temperature.

I agree about the size of the birds (though I made the fish too big on purpose, as they are prone to catch bigger fish than they can swallow and make great comedy trying to cope). I will see how much more size I can get out of the birds. Their appendages are hard to deal with!

Cool ideas Piet. I do need a bit more "mood". I like the big limp fish, but the one in the dish is too small. I wonder about adding more fish around and about. Egrets tend to keep a bunch lying about that they are either saving for later or have for some reason decided they don't want.

I'll more than likely bring my laptop to Monhegan. We'll have to do a Photoshop class after hours when we're indoors for the night. :D
