starting this one in an environment. Specular issues are not making him look real yet (I think), but we have good detail available at least, we'll see what happens..

But east is the ocean and then Portugal. And then the World Cup. Maybe he should ref the finals. (Let's see what you do with that thought.) Matt

Yes, eastward.

This is wonderful with the metallic warrior and horse striding through your marshes.

Had you considered giving him a bit of sunrise just beneath the horizon on the right? Radial filter? ?

East it is... About the sunrise, we will see where it goes, I figure keep everything as flat as possible at this stage. Here is a redo where he is going EastSouthEast. I started playing with the horse's face to make it less metallic.

I like what you’ve done with the horse and the angle. The horse reminds me of creatures that are being turned to stone by a magic spell or being released from stone. What a wonderful journey they, and you, are on.

You're raising the bar on this next one, Piet. I'm really liking the composition. Of course my Arthurian sensibilities would suggest having a castle peeking above the treeline in the distance. ;-)

Adding a wicked witch casting a spell certainly would have saved me a lot of work!

Thank you Duck, We will figure out a castle for sure! I figured environment right from the get-go might help, we will see. My head tells me to keep everything in grey for the moment and focus on lighting and proper glossiness. And then later color and add atmosphere and mood. We will see how it goes. Should I add a soldier with a spear and shield standing to the front side watching the horseman, or should I keep it simple?
