Speaking of that horizontal fenceline, I actually started not to care that much for this --- until I scrolled it down enough to crop just above the fence wire. Now you'd have just trees, MOOOON and birds. Crop a little from the top as well for balance. I find the fence and lower foreground a little distracting. I think it's a good picture, but I think that crop would improve it. (OK)
Friends call me Chuck. :photo: This link takes you to my Flickr albums. Please click on any album to scroll through it.
(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|

I think I am with Paula on the purple - perhaps more atmosphere between us and the moon, and give it a haze, make the sky around the moon brighter. I like the composition, the birds, the line of trees - perhaps mix the birds with the trees a little, thicken up the flock - more birds, more birds.
Thanks so much for your suggestions, Piet! I had a small row of birds on that horizontal fence line briefly, but the idea to place some among the trees flying is more interesting. Had to chuckle about the "atmosphere, haze, brightness." The blue, the clouds and their color (up to a point) and the clarity of the moon...all that is real - from a single image overlayed onto the trees :) Shot at sunset with dry, clear air. But we can go for more "atmosphere" as related to mood, sure!
Look at the moon on a cloudy night and see how the clouds around it are lit. If you add clouds, the need light from the moon!! The moon has rings of light... or rather, it can.

(edit - see http://photomentoris.com/viewtopic.php? ... 875#p26875)
It was still daylight, with sun just setting, moon just rising, and with a few clouds around (nothing "added" to the pic in that regard). ... Thank you Piet!

A composite + un-birds :) Your feedback welcomed.
Un-birds, wow, do they have Moon brushes too? Maybe a few trees, some dirt and some cows. How far we've come. S-
