good job Paula, wonderful treasures you keep finding. I imagine the ledgers will find many applications, I imagine that some are worthy of framing just as they are!
So far I've just photographed a few pages. I'm gonna bring a couple of the ledgers home to work with. Currently their job is holding the rug down to get the curl off the edge where it was rolled up for shipping. I'm gonna round up some old brick from the back 40 to use for that purpose. There were letters, too but most so damaged they fell apart in my hands. It has been a treasure hunt as you say. Last week found an engraved pocket watch, unknown who it belonged to, and a set of dishes (nothing valuable, but intact) buried behind one of the outbuildings.

The ultimate target is the stash of gold rumored to have been buried on the land in 1863.

Wow! Memory lane! Great time travel. Very inviting. The room at the end calls and summons. You are a wizard, m'am. Matt
No wizard, more like a fool, but always trying to capture the magic spell this house holds over me, causing me to squander my life savings.

It's encouraging when the time travel works, thank you!

Minnie, very nice the way the textures and pages work together on this one.

Thank you Bob, it's fun to play with these "constructions".

Oh that's nice, and I love what you've done with the sitting area!

As a side, I was at an art auction recently and saw a number of 'paintings' that looked like someone's scrawl. I wonder what you think about trying something similar with the ledgers, making them the foreground instead of a texture. Sort of like taking a ledger and turning it into We The People. I'm not sure it can even be done but thought I'd ask. S-
