Artists palette

Post by RBorud » Wed Nov 15, 2017 4:33 am

Hi All
I will add one more of past work, then be gone for a week. I have a great fascination for painters studio, in particular their palette tables. Here is one I put my own touch upon. Thanks for looking. RBorud

I see your touch. I like it, glowy neon colors and all. I am conflcted about the spider-webby brush strokes that run between all the elements in the picture. It works for your image. I have software that does that, but I have some internal control that has kept me from using it for reasons I don't fully understand. Of course my strokes of this kind don't behave as well as yours, which is a skill issue rather than something else.

I understand you're trying to get away for a week, and I'll be scarce till after Thanksgiving too, but when we all settle back down, perhaps you'll share with us some of the ways you make your artistic decisions about processing? I think it would make an interesting discussion if those of us who do this kind of work shared our thinking, because it is NOT the same process we use when making documentary photographs. Even if all our software is different, sharing our mental processes for deciding what to do/what to try, could be helpful to us all.

Thank you for sharing another thought-provoking artwork.

I like it! Some of it has a melting-watches aspect like a Dali. (OK)
Friends call me Chuck. :photo: This link takes you to my Flickr albums. Please click on any album to scroll through it.
(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|

I find this to be a fascinating study in color. I especially like the hand-drawn color in the bucket. So fun! S-
