thanks Frank - I created This image years ago, bright and wonderful in a way. But was hoping I have learned enough to add more impact and realism, So I played with making the neck stand out better (choosing to contrast the blues against the reds) and adding a ton load of texture.

I had to flip the canvas to attempt to see it fresh... MY PRACTICE!

thank you Frank - I appreciate the feedback, it is very hard to be objective about something that is so subjective. I often can't tell if something is better or if something is different. Perhaps there is no "better", but just more choices to pick from...

I have several games I play with images like this but they're all basically the same thing, how does my gut feel about them.

Put both images side-by-side and step back from the monitor until you lose sharpness then take a second look at them.

You can do the same for a single image, and sometimes I'll even flip it upsidedown just to see if it feels the same.

I hope it helps! S-

While I like this different look which feels more painterly, I believe I like the darker tones of the original......
