It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed.
As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery.
Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers.

Warlock, an old crusty one...

I've gotta try the liquefy on some of my stuff.

thought that's what that was....
good - It's better than I thought then.
thank you Frank and Min, Our joking around raises an interesting question - What is it, that makes it easy for humans to identify sex by seeing hands only? Perhaps I should have painted those nails!

This isn't a scientific question or answer. You already owned up to the hand in an earlier bird-in-hand image, so we are expecting it to be yours. We are pretty sure you don't have anyone living in your house with a hand that really looks like that. From your map you don't appear to have close neighbors who might be witches or warlocks. We know you are adept at turning something you photograph into something entirely different. So the Occams Razor explanation is: that's Piet's hand turned creepy with a bunch of Photoshop weirdness.

It was a cold day, nothing like what Frank is putting up with, and the birds came back for more seed. Tonight's finger play is a little too colorful perhaps, but it makes an interesting contrast for a black bird mostly without color.

This is my favorite so far. The warm backdrop is so good for this particular bird. And I like the uncreepy hand. However, with your many tricks, this can be turned into a horror movie cover shot and probably will be! Especially if you go monochrome, with toning.

thank you Min and Frank (thanks Frank about the brushwork - I'll fix that), I must be getting jaded to the process, I liked this one least... But the yellow/orange glow behind them was interesting. I thought I did good getting the lighting on the hand close, But really need to do this with more natural light so that it isn't so noisy - was doing it at night with a lamp far to the left and a flashlight hitting tissue paper to the right.

I'll give the B/W a shot for the fun of it, that should be a fun exercise!

It just isn't dark enough for your Dark Side winter persona. But you can fix that...
