Funny enough I did pic an "Eastern brown ( not sure?) " sunning itself on the road in the middle of nowhere.
Snake was gray as was the road, so not much colour there!
Used a 400mm lens. Snakes will usually run from you, but others will attack. So be safe, or you'll only have 10 mins to get antidote.
If interested in these critters, suggest google "Snakes of Australia". AND be very scared...

Snakes are rarely found in city areas, although a neighbour found one some years ago and set off a panic in our street.

Spiders:
In my backyard I have Trapdoor and Redback. Very poisonous and dangerous to an old codger like me.

American tourists:
Has not happened for the last 5 years or so, But you do like fishing at the "top end" of Aussie land. It was regular news for a tourist to be taken by a croc. Which can be up to 30Ft. Oh, well that's breakfast, now for lunch. I hear it say...

Will try to find pic, but not sure where or if I have it anymore.

And, yes, my offer to show any member around town is still open.
Have fun;
I am convinced that one does not grow old by accident where you live!

we will start with a snake, but I'm sure he has a love interest in the future also..
Knight-in Armour by A. A. Milne

Whenever I'm a shining Knight,
I buckle on my armour tight;
And then I look about for things,
Like Rushings-out, and Rescuings,
And Savings from the Dragon's Lair,
And fighting all the Dragons there.
And sometimes when our fights begin,
I think I'll let the Dragons win ...
And then I think perhaps I won't,
Because they're Dragons, and I don't.
