Piet, I remember seeing another version of the ship. I don't remember the results, only that I liked it. This one is an inspiration as well, absolutely stunning !!!

"Planetary Death by Suicide" is indescribably brilliant !!! I love your vision and always enjoy seeing the works you offer !!!

thanks Minnie and Dave - there is something "off" about the face in the planet that I can't pin down. I like the idea of it and I like the contrast between the red lips and all the greens, but something is wrong... maybe too light by the nose, maybe planet needs remnants of atmosphere and fade near the edge, add stars, I don't know but mostly that the face in the planet isn't working right.

It’s very cool. Creepy+intriguing. You’ve probably already tried this, but I wonder if a little more of the texture showing through the face in places might be interesting? Definitely an Awake kind of image.

thank you Frank and Minnie - Franks version a little less green in the face... My thinking cap is on, and this story will go further. Somehow the face seems flat as I have it, it needs to feel like it is part of the globe more. Min, I think you are right about it needing more texture. I seldom (almost never) do faces - but the thinking is that the human form captures and holds the eye and makes the image more powerful - so I have to buy into that a little bit, just don't know what to do. Perhaps something growing/bubbling from the lips and a bunch of other things. It will get more work from me - could be kind of cool if done right.

attempting some fixes to "death of planet" - lower saturation overall of the figures but leaving saturation emphasizing lips and bruises. Added texture to skin. Added atmosphere breaking away. Tried to paint in last breath leaving. Tried to make skin overall look more pale.

Completely different color pallet, maybe some tears now......as subtle as it is I'm not sure the light shaft above the back is helping the inhalation spots...but you know more about what you're after Piet...still amazing for me

good points Frank - tears would be awesome, but might be over my head - about the breath, I agree completely - I found myself wishing the moth was further away so I'd have more room.
