Door County, WI

Postby Ernst-Ulrich Schafer » Mon Oct 02, 2017 9:36 pm

The trip to Wisconsin was wonderful, just not enough time. ;-( Really enjoyed the Thurs Night Packer Game at Lambeau. & then touring the stadium and Hall of Fame of Fri. Had the chance to explore alittle with the camera and here are two images from Door County.

And wonderful images they are. The first is one of the few images I've seen that works with an unremarkable tree trunk running out the top. It is a tribute to your amazing eye for composition (amid your other equally impressive skills) that this is so visually pleasing. I could have shot the same scene and it would have been awful.

I agree with Minnie about your first. Rich texture and dof. Is that a tree or a telephone pole? Did you trek through the rough to get there? Matt

Hi Matt, It's a telephone pole and it was just off the side of the road. I actually turned back around after passing it by as I knew I wanted to explore.

I can't say that I would have stopped for the telephone pole so I hope you can talk to what made you want to turn around and take this image.

On the other hand I can't say enough about the second image and love that you shared this with us! S-

For me Steve, the telephone pole defines the image. While not in the center it adds to the hay bale that is in the center, also giving us two sides to this image.

I wouldn't have taken it, but can't imagine it without it. Neat! S-
