My DIY 360 product table

I have been doing more 360° product photography lately but have been struggling with the lack of proper equipment. I would love to have one of those large automated centerless tables like this one;

Instead I have resorted to a small home made turntable and a larger motorized table, but nothing as fancy as that very expensive piece of machinery above. So...

I made my own. :-)

I sourced the parts from several sites; Framing from 80/20.net, ball transfer bearings from Global Industrial and the casters from Amazon.

I'll post additional "in action" shots as I get the table tweaked. I have to adjust the seamless a bit and see how the lights fit around the table.

wow - wow - wow. Looks like a big-boy erector set (the 80/20 stuff). Tying the casters to the rail was genius! Learning the parts and what you can do with 80/20 looks like a hurdle to overcome, and I am thinking the components are not cheap. But seriously, a big-boy erector set!!!! How on earth did you find out about this stuff?

This tale is about a year in development. I found this site when I was searching for a build solution. The "erector set" solution was perfect for my needs. It's not cheap though so I needed to make sure my design was what I really needed and wanted. The total cost was just under $1700, which is a lot cheaper than the multi thousands for the one I modeled on.

I'll put together a little tutorial on how it came together.

Shows the Erector Set Boy lives on. Handsomely done. You will probably do better with yours than with the monster because it is truly yours. Matt

Trying to get my own social media program going here. I have to drum up business now that I don't have my tattoo shop to support me. :S
