It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed. As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers. |

Morning Light #2
Part of the dawn series in Sallis the other day. Thanks to Frank for tutoring me on luminosity masks though I haven't a clue what I'm doing yet. Maybe never will.

No thoughts for improvement here minniev...very well done and I've no clue what I had to do with it......so if you did something in processing that I've tried to explain to you I think you must understand it rather well because I see no trace of the processing in the image.

I used the luminosity mask thingy to fight off the too-dark parts that were in such deep shadow. They are still dark but it doesn't seem so bottom heavy anymore. I tried reducing the whites to get some more detail in the water drops but I'm not sure it worked.Psjunkie wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 9:13 pmNo thoughts for improvement here minniev...very well done and I've no clue what I had to do with it......so if you did something in processing that I've tried to explain to you I think you must understand it rather well because I see no trace of the processing in the image.

Minnie;
No complaints from me...Not even the tiniest nit-pic,
You stated earlier that you include too much in your frame and not focusing on a single element. Then you produce this!!
On my screen the flower jumps out.
Artfully done, and superbly executed.
How can I properly explain myself? Let's just say I'm jealous.
Kind regards;

It's easier for me to focus on single elements and simpler compositions when I'm in my country house. There are no grand landscapes to distract, no dam birds, no clear vistas to capture sunrise or sunset, and very few people. I'm nestled in a clearing in the forest in a house that is set up for modern life in 1930. So my vision adapts. Put me in New Orleans or British Columbia, or even on a lake half an hour away and i'll try to cram everything in the frame.pop511 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 11:58 pmMinnie;
