Geez! That's a handsome fellow. Beautiful, I feel like he's sitting in my lap. Wanta tell us about him?

Wow, it's amazing how a little thing can drop you. I thought I was better but guess I needed another few days.

I'll be back at it again tomorrow! S-

I was thinking about this yesterday but not in the right place to shoot.

I see a lot of dust when I look through the viewfinder so I thought I'd see if there was any on my sensor. I put the camera in Aperture Mode, f/22, ISO 100, and Manual Focus. I was going to use the white of my monitor but couldn't clean it enough to feel satisfied so I placed a piece of blank white paper against it, propped my camera on a chair and set the timer to shoot. It's late here so the image came out darker than I wished so I boosted the Exposure Compensation to +3. I'll try again tomorrow. (should the slider be that far to the right?)

Well that's not good. I locked the mirror up last night and used a blower to try to remove the spots. Did I add more?

How close were you? Live? Fascinating stuff you are finding. And showing. Chuck"s Outside the Frame discussion comes to mind here; is this guy looking at me, looking at smaller prey, waiting for Godot. Not a casual look; intense, focused, poised to pounce. Stay awake, stay away. Cool. Matt

Luckily I don't see it in the photo and hope it's on the lens. I'll try another tomorrow. Almost better! S-

I was about a foot away with a good lens, but he wasn't having it for long. Beautiful bird! S-

A foot? How did you get that close without spooking it? Matt
