Bug and leaves

I find the image holds enough interest to keep me looking for a bit minniev....had you not mentioned texture I would have just thought maybe noise but think it works well for the image. You might try adding some drama....I used an exposure layer to lessen the white or fog cast and then a sunshine filter from On1 with a heavy hit to the glow slider, added an inverted mask in Ps and painted the effect back in on the leaves to try and give the image some impact. The effect can be done in several different ways...I just opted for easiest since I've full editors available...

Thanks Frank. You know I’m gonna ask you to show me esp since I’m without my usual tools. Pixelmator has some semblance of layering but I haven’t got it figured out yet. I did apply some glow in Snapseed but it’s more subdued than what I could do at home.

Minnie, I am a loss to suggest anything since I rarely see potential in stuff, only what's there in front of my eyes. That said, this scene is too dark and muddy for me and holds no interest. But I want to see what you and Frank conjure. Matt

Nice find Minnie. Love the softness in the background. It could stand to be a little bit brighter. Listen to me, one who's always on the dark side.

I would just bright the center area ever so slightly.

Bottom line, I'm convinced that no matter what instrument you have in your hand to create an image, they always seem to come out on top.

Always appreciate your feedback anyway Matt. I never expect anyone to like everything. My country pictures are kinda experimental humdrum, but it’s where I am right now.

Thanks Dave. I just learned a way to dodge and burn with Pixelmator so I’ll give her a try!
