Can't wait. How did you do the dark spot behind Sir Galahad? Or is that part of the scene? Matt

It is the scene. I just waited for somebody to land in it. I did some dodging and burning and other finagling to bring the lights and darks out a bit more, since it was after sundown and only a little orangey light shining under there.. But the spot is part of the dam. Can you make out his fish laid over the edge of his perch? That means he caught more than he could eat!

No, Minnie, didn't see the fish. Is it the gray shape at his feet? These eyes need sharpening. You are very patient to wait for the right bird to land in the right place at the right time, but it truly pays off. Great work. Have you set up your sales business yet? Matt

yup.. well done. I like the idea of having a stage/scene and then shooting when the actor appears.

No sales yet, but ever hopeful!

There isn’t much waiting involved, I know the perches and the birds will cycle through them on a good fishing day. If there are more birds than perches, they’ll fight over them, which is great fun to see. When they catch a fish and lay it aside, it is for sure a good day.

This little arch developed over the winter during the ice, and it’s a good spot for afternoon shots. All kinds of weird stuff grows on the concrete, and that stuff changes color and form. It’s an interesting stage set. They do remind me of actors or dancers much of the time.
