Othello, Performed On A Frozen Stage

Post by minniev » Fri Jan 19, 2018 10:05 pm

With the cast of characters you've seen before. It was a dark stage (this one is in the deeper bowels of the dam) with the stage lights being the actual daylight that gets in or reflected through the metal grates from above. It may just be too dark, so I'd welcome any advice.

Okay so now I hear Verdi! (Joe Green.) Poor doomed Desdemona stands shivering in the follow spot while slowly-going-mad Othello lurches toward her and his own destruction while Iago preens and crows in misplaced triumph downstage center! Magnifica tragedia! You saw it! I see it! No, not too dark; perfect. Brava! Wonderfully cast, beautifully lit, perfectly set. But where are you going to put the orchestra? The strings and woodwinds will not take well to water. ;)

(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|

You got the characters assigned just as I did, Chuck! That’s encouraging!

Perhaps I’ll add a picture of the orchestra later. These darned birds are so much fun.

:D

(Not totally off topic: for many, many years I've seen water birds hanging out on ice and wondered if they have no nerves in their feet. Drove past a frozen watercourse just yesterday and there were a couple of hundred Canada geese just hanging out, standing mostly, right on the ice. Could we stand barefoot on ice for any length of time in 20-degree temps? What up with that?) :?

Lucas could not have done better with the casting nor Rembrandt with the light. Matt
