foggy dusk

didn't have much to work with, so went artistic.. I think it is a Harrier Hawk, but don't know my birds that well. With better light and a little bit of luck, will get many more of this bird.

Yes, Northern Harrier - a beauty! I like the contrast of #2, am wondering if more "golden hour" color would work? I see a lot of dark sepia/red here.

thank you for confirmation Linda! Based on your comments, I went with even greater contrast, and then got most of the reddish tint out of the background by desaturation.

I like #2 a lot, the reddish/orangish one with a textured look in the background. That warmth seems to make the hawk really come alive. A wonderfully evocative image. And a good example of a non-centered, non-Rule of Thirds image.

Wow, your second is stunning! It feels right, like what you'd see before the last light, but just can't make out. Great catch! S-

You worked magic again Piet. Love the final version. Captures the dark danger just before the dive and capture. For your consideration:

eve's shadows cloak claws
death searches on whisper wings
which life ends tonight?

Thanks Steve. I hesitated, thinking it might be too raw. What do you think? Matt
