Go That Way

Post by minniev » Tue Jan 02, 2018 9:54 pm

This morning there were no herons or egrets at the dam, but the gulls were here on holiday. All comments appreciated.

This is a crop of a larger frame. The rocks were frozen and were too deadly to climb down so I resigned myself to shooting from the upper level.

Bizarre, but at first glance I saw as a row of airplane seats and the airplane window! Guess that means I'm having a bit of trouble with the composition, light and shadows - sorry :|

Well, that would work  And I do see it differently now that it's OK to not view literally. Another bizarre brain bump.

Preaching to the choir :D
And also, the more I look at the shot, the more I'm intrigued by the idea of abstract. Could this be a new subset of dam birds images, Minnie, exploring even further into the geometry and light than the masterpieces already captured and created?

I have a little subset of abstract-ish dam birds, and I've added to it while they're scarce, since there's seldom more than one, and they don't do much. When subject matter gets lean, I have to try to be creative!

Excellent choice of compensation !!! No need for any disastrous accidents as we have had in the past. May not have been what you wanted, but you walked away with something, safely.

Thanks Dave. I've learned to take what the dambirds give me. Some days they give nothing, and some days they're quite generous. When there's not much going on, that propels me to think more creatively, so it's all good.

I immediately wanted to rename to this Gull Gone Bye!

I know that spot and think it worked well for you, but it's the crop and the processing that are a reflection your artistry!

I'm not even sure what to say, you see beauty beyond the obvious. It must be amazing to see through your eyes! S-
