Really? I thought you we asking for a comparative value judgement of some sort related to relative significance of mass of bird and mass of water.
My comment was intended simply to characterize the two contrasting factors at play in the posted image ( which, without change, provides- to me at least - significant impact.)

What you described is what I was trying to show. The skittering bird on his toothpick legs being chased by a wave much stronger and bigger. But showing all that meant more distance and less space for the bird. I was asking if that was ok or if it reduced impact too much. We are saying the same thing in different words.
