Certainly froze the action St3v3M..if I didn't know better I'd say it looks like you been poaching minniev's bird spot....the underside of the bird seems too dark...not sure but could be a white balance issue,....anyway I offered up a version trying to keep your intended detail-less back ground as close as I could to show you what I mean.....

Steve, I like this very much. Even though I know the fish is there, I'm having difficulty seeing it. I'm not sure if much can be done for any correction, but I do like the overall image. It reminds me of Minnie's dam bird series.

Winner Winner Egret Fish Dinner!

This was my first time tracking birds and I wish it was a bit sharper. Editing the image was balancing act between keeping the tone of the image and not blowing out the feathers. It's also the closest to what I remember, but I'm sure there's another story to tell there and really appreciate your version!

I'll keep working on it and appreciate the help! S-

I worked back and forth between cropping in more and losing the story or leaving it as is. It's my first time in awhile at birding but I learned a lot and that's all that's always worth the effort. As to the rest, I'd say mine is a photograph where hers is art. Someday, and more to follow! S-

This is a beautiful image. Of course, I'm addicted to Dam Birds, so I'm prejudiced. But I love the starkness of the contrast with the white bird and the rich black background caused by the shadows. The bird has great detail in head, feathers, wings. Even the fish tail has detail, and the drifting water drops enhance the dynamic story. I like the way you've used the shimmering reflection. And of course I'm a fan of the geometric structures for framing. I had to have a go of it, myself. I tried to brighten the fish a bit, and I worked on the very slight halo-ish effect around his head.

And to everyone: it is enormously fun to share these birds with a photo friend! If any of you find yourselves in my area, come on! What we can learn with and from each other is amazing.
