Sometimes I just have to laugh at them.

There are no banal subjects in photography, but an infinite number of banal ways to illustrate them.

O.M.G. How delightful! Mating ritual or male vs. male standoff or other? You must have had a great time watching!

These are, hands down, some of the best images I've seen in your set. Talk about a 180 degree change of mood from some of your sulkier images you posted earlier.

I always have a hard time leaving, every time I start to pack my stuff up, they do something else. Endless entertainment.

These are perch-wars. There is a certain hierarchy of preferred perches, and those who secure them don't want to give them up without a fuss. They also don't like another bird sneaking up behind them and fishing too close to their spot.

I have a blast. The Fisheries officer thinks it's funny that I know the birds' personalities, but they really are like people. Each one is different.

Thank you Duck. Most of the images are dreamy or moody, but there's a subset like this that are whimsical.

Absolutely the best dam birds to date! I much prefer these lighthearted images to the darker moodier ones. You started off my day with a smile! Vaudeville at the dam for sure - hoofin' it up and struttin' their thing. I can't choose a favorite, they are both so great.

Any picture that makes me Grin Out Loud is a great picture. That first one is Shuffle Off to Buffalo without the top hats and rattan canes (but they are there if you look close). The second is Struttin' at the Savoy, also without the toppers and canes but heck, birds don't got thumbs. :D (OK)
Friends call me Chuck. :photo: This link takes you to my Flickr albums. Please click on any album to scroll through it.
(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|

DAMN YOU! All I can hear now are songs from "A Chorus Line"

One singular sensation, every little step she takes
One thrilling combination, every move that she makes
One smile and suddenly nobody else will do
You know you'll never be lonely with you-know-who
