It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed.
As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery.
Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers.

Two kettles

Post by Matt Quinn » Tue Sep 25, 2018 1:04 am

Shot this this morning at the Swap Shop, a treasure house of some people's junk and other folk's treasures. In the winter, the workers heat the shack by firing up the pot belly stove and fill these kettles with water to keep the air moist. The treasures need a controlled environment, you know. All suggestions welcome. Thanks. Matt

Spot on Matt !!! Love the tone and the controlled environment is just right. BTW, I have a couple of kettles similar to the nearest one in the foreground. Belonged to my grandparents, I need to display them somewhere. Thanks for the reminder !!!

This is very nice. It's well composed, with the angle of the pots leading the eye through the frame. There's lovely detail. The conversion is very well done. Yes, this is meant for black and white. Give them a small print.

Thank you Minnie. Does it diminish the photo if I reveal that I flipped it horizontally? Was I dishonest in doing so and presenting it this way? Matt

Absolutely not. You do what makes it look like it felt.
