Going for a Coca-Cola look

Post by Duck » Tue Jul 25, 2017 3:28 am

Coca-Cola has been running some ads on social media done by various photographers but all having some form of vintage film look. I bothered a friend of mine to indulge me for my take on the ads. Thoughts, comments, and anything else you want to throw at this is welcomed.

classic nice work. I think this looks really cool - I haven't seen any of the adds, but I feel this one would be as effective as any of them. Looks like an interesting way to make things pop.

Way above my pay grade Duck...I think you achieved vintage quite well...the grain is well done along with most everything else...I've no real critique, just an opinion......a personal issue but I find being able to see the lighting gear distracting in an image..so I would suggest removing the umbrella. I think Coke should purchase rights to you image...well done.

I love the softness of your friend and not to mention the Coke being, oh so sharp, really keeps the viewer focused in on both subjects. I do believe you have met your goal.

All processing was done in Lightroom and I was too lazy to bring it into Photoshop to rework the umbrella, but you are right, it has to go.

By the way, opinions count also.

The lower lip piercing kinda kills the vintage aspect. I really like the book and the writing implement, though.

The whole thing with Coke, I believe, is they're marketing to the 'instagram' crowd. So their current line of images have that hipster retro and 'filter' look. It's modern and trendy, not necessarily classic or vintage.

Considering this was a cobbled together photo shoot I'm happy with the results myself.

Thanks for the comments.
