I like!
Sand states facts, sometimes poses questions, sometimes supplies answers...
This dropped left 2° flight feather was partially embedded by wind-blown sand from the left ( note finer grains on downwind side and where gently curved underside of feather was molded. Wonder what occasioned the quite recent partial - almost complete - displacement of feather from its embedment without leaving a trace in the sand on either side - and without total displacement of the feather? The photographer perhaps lifted the feather by its exposed edge? Just a guess, no other sand disturbance in evidence.
Amazing how prolonged social isolation can affect ones focus, attention, and curiosity!

very cool - I like how the light gently scrapes everything giving soft hills and valleys.

Thanks Dave, for your kind words and especially for the information about the feather that comes from your expertise. It is as I found it (I have an almost superstitious quirky resistance to moving found objects before photographing them. If I'm gonna move it, I'll wait till the photo session is done. Duck has told me that is very silly, and I have a photo friend who is all about finding and arranging leaves for proper composition. But still I resist. There was a bit of wind this day, and the "find" was only feet from the waterline, so I'm guessing the wind, working grain at a time, moved enough grains to allow it to shift shortly before I found it. When I passed this spot an hour later on my return walk, I found nothing of this little display, so water and wind had completed their work. The impermanence of nature's art is part of its charm.uuglypher wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 7:24 pm

Thanks Piet. I was charmed by the light and tones in the sand designs I found.PietFrancke wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 11:45 pmvery cool - I like how the light gently scrapes everything giving soft hills and valleys.
