I really like your take on the scene. For me, it speaks to a simpler time when you didn't need anything but yourself and a rock or piece of driftwood to enjoy a day on the beach.

Sadly those days have all but disappeared. Many of today's kids have to be spoon fed mindless entertainment or they are bored.

Love your beach photos, junkie. You tend toward the light side, and I toward the dark. So I enjoy the contrast. Great range of tones on her legs, arms and the rippled shadows. Grand capture. Matt

Mike thank you for taking time to give me your thoughts...

Matt, the image usually dictates my pp choices and many times I choose what seems to work best with separating the subject from the background...glad you like them and thank you for the compliments...

I like the simplicity of this image, and like the image of the boy, the concentration of the child upon what she's doing instead of posing! It's well shot from a nice angle, with appropriate processing choices for the subject. The reflections in those ripples add another dimension of interest, well spotted. I might try to get rid of the shadow on her far arm that's caused by the bow thingy on her top, it is a bit of distraction. The other shadows are more natural/expected and don't distract.

Thank you minniev...I thought it gave the viewer a little pause, something to figure out and when figured, registers easily in the brain....I'll give that some thought as it is easily removed....

I did give me pause but I first thought it was a scabbed-over injury, then a butterfly tattoo, before I found the bow, but all that pausing made the image more about the intrusion than about the subject.

Wow there are so many stories to tell, but I really love the rippled reflection. So beautiful! S-
