'Brand New Key'

Post by davechinn » Mon Nov 12, 2018 12:07 pm

New Orleans has more to offer than "Bourbon Street". I choose to visit New Orleans for the variety of interest such as the people. The history of the city, local residents and the musical entertainment is like no other city I have ever visited. NOLA, to me, is a city of its own characteristics. This image was taken in Audubon Park and if not for Minnie and Gene we would not have visited this park among other points of interest.

You beat me to her! I was working on a color version when I had to close up shop and finish packing for this trip. I’ll post it when I get home.

This conversion and the toning is quite nice, and fits her. It helps simplify the scene, a factor I was struggling with, and lets her gain our full attention. It also emphasises the shadow. I’m glad you included the woman with the baby buggy, which I don’t think I did. Adds a little whimsy.

Dave, I really like this; the tiny shadow of the skater, her pose in mid-stride, the baby looking at her from the distance, the leading lines, all very pleasing. Thank you for this. Matt

Thanks Minnie !!! I'm not quite sure why I chose that tone, to be different I suppose. The other ones I took of her were not up to par, so this will probably be the only one from me. However, I would enjoy seeing your versions here or elsewhere.
