New Orleans Ladies #7

Post by minniev » Sat Oct 13, 2018 5:57 pm

This is one where I did not visualize the end when I took it or when I started editing it. I shot it expecting it to be one that was too edgy to present, but once I started working with it, the lady became more beautiful and the end product became more upbeat, and more artistic than grungy. But you be the judge.

You have done her up right Minnie !!! Excellent choice of processing modes, I don't think another route would have been appropriate for her. Again, one I missed, don't remember seeing her at all.

Initially she looked so pitiful I thought of a grunge approach, but the more I looked at the image, the more I saw her as a faded beauty with a little zip still in her.

I hope the edge is more celebratory than pitiful. Thanks, Piet.

Thanks Dave. I could do a sad grungy version, very easily, but this one felt more like who she was, once I really looked at the detail. She was leaving Rouses’s at a time when there was a convergence of characters!
