Overall this is a great casual portrait. The only distracting elements are the stray hairs in the upper corners of her eyes an going into her mouth. And boy does she have sparkling eyes.

I understand your thinking and had the hair strands been bulkier (more hair) I probably would have read it as having a purpose, rather than appearing as an annoyance. If that makes sense. Or; the greater the presence, the greater the intention... Or make it so obvious there is no room for misinterpretation (or distraction).

Or, as all the great teachers say, "every element in a photo should have a purpose."

As for the eyes, I think they're fine. I didn't see them as overdone. They actually pulled me into the portrait. Unfortunately they are also what drew me to the stray hairs above her eyes which led me to spot the hair going into her mouth. ;)

Nice capture Frank !!! Love the tack sharp eyes. If the expression says anything about her personality, then I would say "look out world".

I like to think and image is what it is, but I might suggest removing the stray hairs. Wow she's growing up fast! S-
