It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed.
As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery.
Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers.

too blown out on the side of his face, also maybe the line in the neck parallel to the chin is too strong - I like the hair, freckles shirt, chair - not the background. The lines in the background are too strong, it looks plastic like and doesn't suit.

The expression has interest and potential - he is All Boy, looks like a good kid.

I agree with Piet's comments but would add that I would get rid of the chair and crop the photo more. Although Duck seems to have gone wild about Ernst's magnolia and the unusual cropping and framing. So, who am I? Maybe this is the best of all possible crops. Memorable photo, though, that he will look back on and try to remember what time has lost. Matt

I think he's adorable, but the image makes me squint. I know you're going for high key but I think it's a little too far. S-

I came back to think and wonder if I was too harsh. See what I did there!

I like the image as is, it's a bit bright, but it works well as high key.

It's interesting how we see things! S-

Frank, I think you did quite well with this image. However, there are a few drawbacks. If it were mine, I would darken the background some, darken the side of his face some. Maybe add some depth with shadows. The chair doesn't bother me so much as the crop. I would find a way to add some more room to the right side of the image. It seems to be unbalanced as it is. Like maybe he is to close to the table and needs to skoot back to the left. Hope that's understandable. Can't figure out how I missed this one since to posted it back in July.
