That is awesome! The initial composition works incredibly well for an artistic interpretation. Print and wall hanging worthy.
It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed. As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers. |

An excellent action shot Frank !!! I love the low perspective view. It puts the viewer right there with the young athletes. Removing the fence and power line is a plus, but sometimes it is what it is. Your very last edit is probably one I would not have chosen, but it is impressive. Nice work on all from start to finish. This shot encourages me to hit the fields that I haven't been on in several years. I do miss it.
I do like Piet's idea and it just may be one I will try myself.

Thank you Piet.......I think you are right about the boys liking what you did without question and I came close to getting that one but in the end thought what I got to be a bit more versatile for my intentions.....good job

This is an amazing capture at just the right moment that makes you feel right there. We're you sitting on the ground? Wonderful!Psjunkie wrote: ↑Tue May 01, 2018 1:06 amSpring soccer season has started...
Not so much looking for "atta boys” here in the critique section, but am not opposed by any means….As Duck mentioned sometime back, maybe a bit more from the OP on purpose of post….with that in mind I have tried to impart vibrance, energy, and separation of background with this presentation. So I guess the question would be, have I over/under done it and or succeeded with any of my goals…….I must confess to pushing this image pretty hard..
What I don't like is the oversharpening, or noise, on the boys against the soft background. It might work with other images but seems out of place, almost cut and paste, against the muted soft background. Don't lose this but blend it a little more.
And thank you for sharing this. It helps to learn how others see! S-
