The Power Of Love

Post by minniev » Wed Dec 27, 2017 4:40 pm

I want to make a print of this for each of these two guys. All suggestions/edits appreciated. There is a little more real estate around the edges but not much, and there are intrusions.

My brother had a stroke several years ago and though he isn't paralyzed the brain damage means he has problems with memory and executive functioning that prevent him from driving, working, or living alone. So he lives with us, and is often depressed about his situation. Our youngest grandson, just turned 3, has made Uncle Johnny his personal project. He tells everyone Johnny is his best friend, tells Johnny how much he loves him, and always wants to sit by him, play with him. He insisted his stocking be hung beside Johnny's, saying "because we are best friends, forever, right?" They dig for treasure, hunt for trolls, and make up stories. This stick was a pet snake for a while, then a ninja sword. The healing power of a little child's love is amazing, and i tried to capture a bit of it in this snap.

I see the connection of love and understanding between them, Minnie. The background of Christmas stockings adds to the power of the message. Truly wonderful.

Thank you Linda. It's just a family shot, but sometimes we can tell stories with them, too.

The love between 'the boys' is wonderful! I wouldn't change a thing! S-
