The hazy/smoky light of #2 really draws me in. I also love the rim light on his arms, his profile and the sound (?) board. Fantastic atmosphere IMO! The computer is a little jarring but that's only because I'm not familiar with how it's done "these days" :)

Thanks for commenting Linda !!! I don't fully understand the sequence of equipment or what all is involved. I do know they have 2 turntables, a sound mixer, (I think that's what it's called) and a laptop computer with some sort of software installed on the laptop. The lighting was a challenge as it was rather dark, with lights going in various directions and never in the same spot for very long. I found if I could time the lights at the right moment, I would have better results. Only a select few is where I used a flash, but most were without.

Dave,

Great series! Love it.
The impact of each is atmosphere and intensity of attention.

Beautiful tonality. More dark than highlights; but it has an atmospheric quality that seems to work very well with the subject.

These are great Dave, the lighting conveys the mood and feel so well. My favorites are the third and last but they are all really nice and form a cohesive project group. Your processing, as usual, supports your subject matter effectively, and your captures are high quality in spite of what appears to be a rather challenging environment with dicey lighting and lots of "stuff". Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful set, especially considering the obvious challenges! Literally atmospheric! (OK)

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|
