I like it, a lot - freckles, back turned cap, wide eyed look, mouth slightly open as if in slight surprise, perfect range of tonalities to my eye, and good separation from background. What's not to like? Well done.

I like the composition of this shot a lot, Frank. Very economical in terms of what is shown. I can't decide about the pp; I keep changing my mind about ultra-dark hair and hat against fair face.

As you know, I have zero experience with portraits, so can mostly just offer my emotional response. For me, overall this is engaging and unique and brought me back a couple of times before I commented.

I notice some stray hairs by his right eye; they are very light where you've lightened the background, I think, making them appear as cracks in the print :)

This is such an expressive portrait that brings me back to it again and again, and of course it's those eyes!

I love everything about it just the way it is. Print it, frame it, and be oh so proud! S-
