NIDA

Postby pop511 » Mon May 15, 2017 4:39 am

Did a photo shoot at NIDA. That is
National Institute of Dramatic Art.
This is where Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson studied here in Sydney.
Could only carry around the camera and on-board flash, but hey!!
Some pretty sights there!! :D

Nice. Looks like a Vegas showgirl! :cheers:

Other than the sheer volume of white in one place making the flowers look blown out the image is lovely. The dutch angle works too!

I'm curious to know how it applies to NIDA and would love to see an overview image locking it to the introduction, but I assume it was for a choreographed dance routine and am happy to see it posted here. I have to ask though, is there anything you don't like about it or wish you would have done differently? S-

It was open day at NIDA. Politicians there, making a nuisance. And students from other colleges learning differing disciplines. I have no idea why or what the girl was doing there, I know that there was NO dancing as I went into the theatre later. NIDA is of course the place where you go to learn acting.

It was just one of many I took of her. Perhaps ask for her telephone number. Maybe not. This old man would have been escorted out
Some further pics of the day.

Chuck;
"Really, really, really love that first one!"
NIDA is like any of the other colleges around Sydney. The main college at Ultimo where I did my course has so many varied courses there. From flower arranging/Navy electronics/Motorcycle mechanic/boat building/plumbing/tool making/Chef/Restaurant management. The list is quite extensive.
From the 150 or so photog students about ten of us were selected to shoot on the day. We were given set objectives to cover, but apart from that, given free rein. The girl was sitting in front of a mirror, was given hair and makeup by students. I remember walking into the room. There was about 50 girls and adults ( teachers ). Colleges take security and safety serious. So the first thing I did in a load voice was to state my reason for being there and if any student does not want to be in any picture to advise me. If you look to the left of the TV crew, ( video students?? ) you will see benches. Students from cooking made lunch. I remember grabbing a bite and kept going. :D
The two young ladies in old fashion attire were probably from the dress making class, and told to make that look as a project from their teacher.
NIDA has NO other teaching facilities attached. All the students came from other institutions in Sydney.
