Hilary

Post by Ernst-Ulrich Schafer » Fri Aug 26, 2016 2:40 pm

From Hilary's visit yesterday to my studio for her Senior Portraits.

A number of years ago I was able to take a workshop with Darton Drake, the man turned my portrait world upside down. He is no longer with us. Here is a Darton image thru Ernst.

Best regards.

Ernst, I have seen the B+W version of this and really enjoy your B+W stuff. However, for me, the color here really lifts this image and the textures give it an old masters feel. I really do like this image.

Very nice images. That one of Hilary is a great effect. Looks like something I am trying to do with my flower pictures. Any reference to the "process"?

I went and checked out Darton Drake and his images are incredible, particularly when you consider that he did a lot of his work in the darkroom, before digital. Almost enough to make one want to take up portrait photography, but I think I will stick to flower portraits. :)
