Another Environmental Portrait

Post by Onslow »

During my vist to Wombat Bend, Sue asked Jemmilia if if she would mind posing for an image for her website. The intent is to show a calm, peaceful and natural environment. Something that people could relate to and think "I would love to be there doing that"
Taking into account my gear limitations as described in my previous post of Sue and Bill with their dogs, I thought a prop of a book and a whitish pillow would assist lighting the shadowed side of her face by acting as a reflector...

Clever use of that pillow. Cleaned up her neck and chin beautifully. Pity you never had an overhanging branch to frame her.
Can see that intense blue sky creeping in. Been to most parts of the world, but there is no blue sky like ours!
Read posts before in other forums that said things like " you deepened the blue in the sky". Err, sorry that is the way it is!
Nice work as usual from you

Cheers Ed... Yep, I know what you mean about the blue sky. It really can be the deep blue that are in the images . I guess if you live in a heavily polluted area then the blue sky would look unrealistic. I just take it for granted myself... :)

Well done onslow and kudos for thinking outside the box for fill light solutions. There are many ways to manipulate light outdoors that people often fail to consider.
