Can't begin to guess the scale but it looks like a spider is making sure whatever he has is not going to escape.
Stacked?
Dead?.
Alive? ( the spider, I mean)

LOL - hi Dave, The spider is but a shell of himself. Wolf Spider Exuviae. And the Cicada is also long gone, but Zombie reanimation occurred when I wrapped the wolf spider around him. The exuviae is a couple of years old, so the spider might still be around somewhere (if they live that long). Yes, stacked, and played with it for half an hour in PS learning textures and making the cicada's face glow and playing with colors - trying for a super villain type look.

I guess we are looking at between 1/2 and 3/4 inches here.
