Orchid macro

Postby hsandler » Thu May 21, 2015 1:45 am

I recently got a macro lens that goes down to 1:1 for my medium format film camera. This is close to 1:1 on Fuji Provia slide film with two flashes.

Intriguing.

This is an incredibly clean and crisp image. I love the focus on the interior detail of the flower. And the red... Intense.
Unfortunately the power of this image can't be appreciated at such a small scale. This is something that needs to be printed large, maybe on canvas. (Y)

This is my kind of shot. I love close ups of beautiful flowers.
My only opinion is twofold, 1) I think it needed to lighten up a hair, and 2) I'd get rid of blemishes that distract, top center and the 4 circles to the left of center, although they are part of the flower I think they distract the eye from the pistil and beautiful center of the shot. Just my opinion but definitely a shot I'd put out their.
