End of the line at Middleback Station

Postby pah43 » Mon Apr 20, 2015 8:01 am

I took this one a couple of yrs ago on a club outing (so there a few of these around) but I was never happy with the perspective and some of the colors - there were some rather nasty color casts and lack of detail (for my tastes) and the verticals and horizontals were just not right ( I used a wide angle lens). Ive played around with it - more experience in LR & PS now and am quite happy with the end result. The subject is an old sheep shearing shed on a Station near Whyalla but is now out of bounds as our military have taken the land over as training grounds, its just as the shearers left it on the day they walked out. Would love to hear your comments :D

I think you've captured this well pAul. The perspective given is good with the verticals working well. The color looks good as well. If this was a "rescue" image, you've done well.....

Thanks for that John, this particular frame was a discard shot from that shoot, it was slightly under exposed to start with so the highlights in the windows and doors were doable. I keep going back over the oldies and I keep finding that the discards of yesterday do have some potential, its also a lot of fun dragging out the picture you saw from the picture you got (!)
